Interior Detailing Drawing Eames Lounge Ottoman Chair:

After the submission, we were told to give remarks on other group drawing and vice versa. After the comments made from our coursemates, we have to re-draw it into our journals. The drawing below is my revision remarks drawing:

Reflection:
I quite suprised how many small and careless mistake me and my group had made in our drawing. I could have said the same for other groups as well.. By doing these type of observation on what is wrong on this drawing itself,  really helps us a lot. It actually made me realize on the mistake that we do and makes us understand it more in a proper way. I will hope that I won't be making th same mistake in the nearest future.

Observation Journal - Task 3

This week, our task was to go for a site visit and explore different type of furniture and sketch it out in our journal. We need 3 furniture, which are chair, table and cabinet. We were told that all of the chosen furniture need to be loose materials, which mean all my chosen furniture need to all different materials. For my site visit, I went to IKEA Damansara.

These are my sketches

Reflection:
I realize there is so much type of materials and finishes I didn't know before after a trip to the site visit. It was a great experience in exploring and gaining new knowledge about it. I had fun and I enjoy seeing different types of design and the materials they used.

Observation Journal - Task 2

On week 2, we were taught to write a specification for our furniture in the sketches we do. Specification is detailed description of the design and materials been used for that particular furniture. For example, the measurement, materials, for which part and lastly its finishing/furnishing used. This is to make it easier for other people, such as the manufacture, to understand.

For the weekly task, we were given 3 images and we will need to sketch it out, minimum of 2 sketches and 2 specification per image given. Here are my sketches;

Reflection:
I had difficulties on writing the specification at first try. It was new to me and I become so confused. However, as I practice and study more about it, I've started to get a hang of it in the end. However, there is still much for me to learn and I will try my best to polish up my specification writing skills in the nearest future.

Observation Journal - Drafting Table

On the first week of sem 3, we were told that for semester 3 Detailing and Working Drawing class will need a journal to do our daily task that will be given to us every week, For this week, we were given a task to draw a drafting table. However, since the lecturers have not teach us how to draw it properly yet, this first task is a test to see how we, students, are able understand the basic for this class fully or not. Since the task is drafting table, we have a tons of it in our classroom studio, here are some photo I took;

My sketches for this task:

This is my front cover I drew for the journal:

Reflection:
In this class, we are not required to use any ruler for our drawing. We are only allow to use artline pens such as 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6 tips. It was very hard to keep a steady line while drawing and I keep on having crooked lines a lot of times. I'm hoping in the nearest future, I will be able to improve my drawing in this class in terms of lineweight and the quality of my straight line.

Memoribilia

This is the final project of this course. In the previous project assignment, where we design based on type of music chosen by us, were also used for this final project. However, we were told that we will get different type of style. After the lucky draw, I gotten RETRO for my style. Thus, for this final, I will be designing based on hard rock and retro.

We were require to design a retail shop related to our music, After gone to several tutorials with our lecturer about the design until it finally approved, we need to presented 6 A2 presentaion board, a model of our retail shop and a sample board.

My shop name is BLACK FLAME and other than music cds, it also sell leather jackets.

This is how my set up during the presentation day.

Reflection:
When doing this project, I was so excited to do a fashion retail shop. At first, I thought it was hard to combine it with retro style. However, after discussing with my lecturer, I came to fully understand what I should aim for, Througout this project, it was fun and interesting, It was a good experience for us. I want to say thank you too all the lecturers that helped us throughout this whole semester and also to my coursemates. Let's do our best in our next semester.

The Playlist

For this assignment, we were required to do a listening booth, based on the study of compact space. By understanding the mechanism, such as

-Stress
-Contractible & expandable
-Folding
  -Hinging (flexible joints)
- Assembling
  -Rolling
 -Nesting
  -Expanded & retracted
-Sliding
 -Inflation

our task is to design a space of 1500(L) x 1500 (W) x 2400(H)
We were given 4 weeks to do this assignments.

Here's a video to show how the mechanism works:

Reflection:
When I first receive this assignment, I wasn't sure what I was suppose to do and it was very confusing. After the mock up session, I finally understood what I was suppose to do for this projects. It was a bit challenging assignment, because we need to apply the mechanism into the model as well. But still I'd tried my hardest to finish building the model. I was actually enjoyed doing the furnitures rather than the walls and such. I hope I will be able to polish up my skill more doing model making in the future.
