IDP Final Presentation

On 6 July 2015, we did our presentation of our final assignments, The Survival Projects from the Introduction to Interior Designs Projects module.

All of us were divided into different group of lecturers and did our presentation one on one with the lecturer.

This is my storyboard. The first part of our final project after we came back from our trip to the Redang Island.

This is the weapons I created for this assignments,

Dual-Knife

Here's a video of the storybaord and briefly about the weapons as well.

The second part of this assignment is making a survival pod.
Here is the presentation board about everything you need to know about my survival pod.

We also required to make a model version of our survival pod.
This is my final model of my survival pod.

After 1 month doing this assignment, I'm glad to finished it without any issues.
Today, I managed to did my presentation without any problems and I hope I doesn't look as nervous as I were in the inside.

I want to say thank you to all my lecturers who had guide us for this whole semester.

Submission Day

Today, 1st July 2015, is our submission day for the portfolio and visual diary.

Marker Rendering

Last but not least, our final assignment for this class is Marker Rendering.
We were require to photocopy our plan, elevation and section drawing last time
and compose it to a presentation board with a suitable title and a few description about the house.
Since we did watercolour rendering before, this time we need to do a marker rendering.

Reflection:
It's true that marker rendering makes our work look more professional, however, I personally like using watercolour rendering more to produce my work. In my opinion, watercolour rendering looks more soft colouring instead to marker rendering. But it was fun exploring different kinds of techniques in rendering.

Model Making

In a group of 4, we were given a task to make a model making assignment.
By using softboard and a few transparency paper for the windows.
This model was the same house model we did for our plan, elevation, and section drawing.

The final model

My presentation board

Reflection:
This is our first time doing a model making assignment and it was very hard. the scale of this model is 1:100. It's quite small and doing the staircase was very hard. Sometimes it make me want to have smaller hands. It's super stressful for the first time of making it and I hope in the future I'll will manage to do it just fine. Cuting the pieces together also reminds me of foundation last time when Idid a cut-out assignments. However, compare to last time, which was only using paper, this time using a softboard, it will add a few more energy to cut it.

Perspective Drawing

After the skill test, we were taught how to construct a perspective gird lines.
One point and two point perspective.
After that, we were require to draw both of the perspective again with 6 different type and size 3D blocks.

One point perspective

One point perspective with 6 3D blocks

 Two point perspective

Two point perspective with 6 3D blocks

Reflection:
It might looked hard, but suprisingly it's very easy to draw. Using the proper tools and following the methods given, it only took me around 10-15 minutes to do the grid line. As for the 3D blocks, some of them took me awhile to do it but this task had make me understand how important it is perscpective applies to us. The grid line makes me able to see it more clearly.

Isometric Skill Test

Before we begin the class, we had a quick skill test in the morning.
We don't know what test it's about till they tell us before the test start.
It seem a skill test on isometric, which is a 30 ° - 30 ° drawing.
They give us an image of the object in the projecter in front of the class, together with its measurement.

The test is only for 15 minutes.

Reflection:
When we were told that the test is only for 15 minutes, I kinda panic inside, because I'm afraid I won't be able to finish it on time. However, I was managed to finished it on time.

Oblique Drawing

After a lecture about oblique drawing, we were given a task based on the drawing of the object.
There's a plan and 2 elevation diagram in the given paper.
Based on the paper, we need to draw it out in a oblique method drawing together with the title block.

I choose to do in 30 ° - 60 °

Reflection:
With the proper tools, it is not as hard as I thought it would be, except the circle part. It was the hardest part ever and it took me awhile to get it right every time. To achieve the correct circle in oblique draw, the measurement has to be very accurate. If it is not accurate, then it won't be a perfect circle in oblique drawing, there will be an error.  It also have a lot of steps to achieve it.
